Black Hawk Feature: Isrealsson and Russell

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Patrick Russell --a forward from Denmark--- and Mathias Israelsson,a Goalie from Sweden have both been in huge contributors in their first season with the Waterloo Black Hawks.

Russell has scored 11 goals and had 10 assists in 21 games--While Israelsson has produced a 5-3 record with one shutout and a league player of the week award. Both Russell and Isrealsson say coming to the States to play for the Black Hawks has been important for their development on and off the ice.

Both Patrick and Mathias are golf enthusiasts--so on this cold--snowy day --we make a stop at the Golf Headquarters in Waterloo for some fun and games.

The World of Hockey is kind of small.. Although Russell is from Denmark---he and Israelsson actually competed against each other in the same Swedish Junior Hockey league...
They have become fast friends...However whether they are competing on the ice... or in a golf shop--both of these guys want to win.
