Janesville police investigate body found on frozen river

JANESVILLE (KWWL) - Police suspect no foul play in the discovery of a body found on top of a frozen river in Janesville on Tuesday.

The body of Daniel Fike, 29, was discovered on top of the frozen Cedar River under the Old Highway 218 bridge in Janesville on Tuesday, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

Police did not give a time when the body was found or the city where Fike was from.

Janesville and Cedar Falls Fire assisted in recovering Fike's body from the river.

An autopsy will be conducted. Officials do not suspect foul play.

The Janesville Police Department and the Bremer County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
