Work to begin on new parking ramp at Iowa City VA

Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Construction on a new, 400-space parking ramp on the Iowa City VA Health Care Systems campus will begin in the spring.

The news comes from Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack, who announced the approval of a contract to begin the build.

“I am very pleased the construction of this badly needed parking ramp can finally begin," Loebsack said in a statement. "This has been a long time coming, but the finished ramp will provide much need parking space at the VA.

"The new parking ramp will make access to VA care easier for our veterans and their families and support the volunteers and staff who work hard every day to serve our veterans,” he added.

The ramp is expected to be finished in December 2014.
