A judge sentenced Adam Every-Harbaugh to a maximum of 25 years behind bars Tuesday for shooting his wife Jessica Harbaugh in the head.

Jessica survived the September 2012 shooting, and was in Clayton County court to deliver an emotional victim impact statement saying, "You have destroyed our family. Our children will be traumatized for the rest of their lives because of your actions."

Every-Harbaugh pleaded guilty to the two counts of willful injury he faced and one count of going armed with intent. Clayton County prosecutor Al Heavens says had the case gone to trial, witness testimony would have revealed Every-Harbaugh had been on meth consistently for several days leading up to the shooting.
