CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

A Coralville police officer was injured while responding to a crash along Interstate 80 Sunday afternoon.  The Iowa State Patrol says it happened just before 2 p.m. at an exit ramp at the 1st Ave. exit.  Troopers say a semi driven by 60-year-old Apolinario Guerrero-Samayoa of Chicago hit the officer's squad car as he was entering his vehicle.  Troopers say the semi then smashed into a tow truck and a Jeep, which had been involved in a previous crash.  The unidentified officer and the driver of the Jeep, 19-year-old Zachariah Kempf of Carlisle, were both taken to an Iowa City hospital.  Their conditions have not been released.
