Still no consensus on Johnson County Justice Center debate

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
The Johnson County Board of Supervisors hoped to come up with a consensus Wednesday about what to do next with the Justice Center debate, but that didn't happen.
In the meeting they decided to meet with the General Services Administration (GSA) to consider buying land, but that meeting date has not yet been scheduled.
They say it may help the expansion of a new jail or courthouse look more attractive to voters.
"Our number one obligation is to give voters another opportunity or something different, but on the other hand I don't know how many more years we can talk about this without doing other county projects," says Board of Supervisors Chair, Janelle Rettig.
At this point, they say they're pretty much still in a holding pattern.
However they say they're trying to give voters another option.
