DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
Guests of the Hotel Julien Dubuque will now be welcomed by a large, 20 foot tall Christmas tree. The tree sits in the center of hotel's lobby. On Wednesday night, a tree lighting ceremony took place. The ceremony included live music, and with the help of a few elves, a lit tree.
The tree was donated by Schuster Tree Services to the Hotel Julien Dubuque. The tree is decorated with 4,000 lights and many ornaments.
Heather Schuster is the catering sales manager at the Hotel Julien Dubuque. She says the tree had to be cut in order to get into the building.
"We actually had to cut four feet off of the tree because even when we lifted it, it was still touching and skimming the ceiling." Schuster said.
The tree lighting ceremony was one of the Hotel Julien Dubuque's Twelve Days of Christmas, which features different Christmas events that will take place at the Hotel Julien Dubuque for the rest of the month.
