Unofficial results: Russell, Weinach win Cedar Rapids City Council runoff election

The Cedar Rapids City Council runoff election is over, according to the Linn County Auditor's Office.

With 100% of precincts reporting, unofficial results show that Ralph Russell and Susie Weinach won the two At-Large seats. Russell received 32.36% of the vote, and will serve a four year term. Weinach won 25.98% of the vote, and will serve a two year term.

Close behind them were Chuck Swore and Carletta Knox-Seymour, with 20.51% and 20.72%, respectively.

According the to the Auditor's website, total voter turnout was 8.7%, with 7891 people casting their ballot out of 90,232 registers voters.

The runoff election was required because no candidate met the necessary 25% of the vote in the primary.
