MARENGO (KWWL) -

A man accused of trying to rob a Marengo barn was arrested Tuesday.

Vincent Rider, 48, of Clarence was arrested on Dec. 3 for attempted burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor.

Police say Rider entered the barn to commit theft of property. He was arrested on the scene and taken to the Iowa County Jail.

Police say they found "a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine” as they arrested Rider.

Rider has also been charged with third-degree burglary and theft of a motor vehicle, both class D felonies, for a previous incident in which police say he entered the same barn and stole a motorcycle.

The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating several other burglaries in northern Iowa County, and ask that anyone with information about them contact them at 319-642-7307.
