WATERLOO (KWWL) - Applebee's restaurants will have an electronic tablet at every table by the end of next year.

According to a press release, the tablets will allow guests to add to their orders, pay and play games from their seats.

The Regional Manager for the Cedar Falls Applebee's wasn't comfortable talking about the table kiosks, but according to public relations representatives for the restaurant chain, Applebee's will have a tablet at every table and multiple bar positions at more than 1,800 restaurants.

Applebee's President Mike Archer said in a press release: “Let’s face it, everyone who has ever been to a restaurant has been frustrated by waiting for their check. Starting out, our goal was to create a way for guests to control when and how they pay their check...The Presto tablet will deliver our guests a robust slate of offerings for not only transactions, but entertainment, social interaction and more, moving forward.”
