UNI places 12 on All-MVC teams

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The UNI football team placed 12 athletes on the All-Missouri Valley Conference football teams, including 4 first teamers.

Running back David Johnson, place kicking Tyler Sievertsen, offensive lineman Jack Rummells, and defensive lineman Xavier Williams made up the first team honorees.

Johnson, a second teamer a year ago, gained 1,679 all-purpose yards this season with 14 touchdowns.  Sievertsen hit 21 of 27 field goals and was perfect on extra points hitting all 34 this season.  

Rummells, picking up his first honor, started all 12 games, while helping UNI rush for nearly 2,000 yards this past season.  Williams, who started in 11 contests, tallied 74 tackles and 5.5 sacks during the season.

UNI added 5 on the second team in Kevin Vereen, Jr., Dan Kruger, Collin Albrecht, Jordan Gacke and Makinton Dorleant.  Deiondre' Hall, Chad Owens and Ray Mitchell were all given honorable mention status.
