EVANSDALE (KWWL) -
Police responded in force to a call from an Evansdale man who said he was suicidal Wednesday afternoon.
Evansdale Police and Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies, as well as a SWAT team from Black Hawk County, all responded to a home near the intersection of East End Avenue and Ayirs Street in Evansdale.
Deputies on scene said a man threatened suicide at a doctor's office, and police found his car at his home just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The man never threatened anyone but himself, officials said, but the SWAT team was called in case that changed.
The man was handcuffed outside his house and taken to a hospital for evaluation, officials said.
