Four touchdowns at the beginning of the first half put UNI far ahead of the Western Illinois Leathernecks and they went on to win their final game of the season 28-13.
At the beginning of the 1st quarter, Western Illinois was ahead of the Panthers after scoring a 37 yd. field goal. David Johnson rushed it in for two touchdowns for UNI. After an interception by Ray Mitchell, the Panthers scored their 3rd touchdown of the game, 11 seconds after their previous touchdown.
During the 2nd half of the game, the Leathernecks tried to catch up by scoring a field goal and a touchdown. It wasn't enough to beat the Panthers.
