UPDATE: Dubuque police respond to overnight shooting at Players Club

SATURDAY UPDATE

One person faces charges related to the shooting.  Police arrested 27-year-old Tyrone R. Clifton Friday night after a traffic stop in Dubuque. Clifton was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for willful injury, going armed with intent, and felon in Possession of a firearm. 

FRIDAY UPDATE

One man was injured in an overnight shooting at Players Club in the 1900 block of Central Avenue in Dubuque.

According to our coverage partners at the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Joseph Roger Lewis Jr., 32, was the victim of a gunshot wound early Friday morning.

Lewis was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque and later transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

It was shortly before 1 a.m. Friday police responded to Players Club, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say his injury is not life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made, as of Friday morning.

Officials ask anyone with information to call the Dubuque Police at 563-589-4415.

ORIGINAL STORY

One man was injured in an overnight shooting at Players Club in the 1900 block of Central Avenue in Dubuque.

Police responded to the establishment shortly before 1 a.m. Friday, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Crews first took the man to Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque and later transported him to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Police say his injury is not life-threatening and are not yet releasing the man's name.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made, as of Friday morning.
