WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Iowa Department of Transportation is scheduled to hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, to discuss the proposed reconstruction of U.S. 63 from Franklin Street to Newell Street in Waterloo.

During the meeting, the DOT says they will discuss design details and right-of-way impacts.

Anyone interested should go to the New Life Center at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 207 W. Louise St., in Waterloo between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The meeting will use an open forum format, and Iowa DOT staff will be on hand to informally discuss the proposed project. No formal presentation will be made.

The DOT says that during the project, traffic would be detoured using U.S. 218, Airport Boulevard, Broadway Street and West Airline Highway.
