Iowa City crash causes traffic back-up

Posted: Updated:
IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A crash at Lower Muscatine Road and 1st Avenue in Iowa City resulted in a traffic back-up Tuesday morning.

According to the Iowa City Police Department, the crash damaged a traffic signal, leaving that signal non-operational for several hours.

Police say that the damaged signal, along with road construction in the area, created a traffic back-up.

The signal is expected to be fixed by noon.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area until then.
