AMES (KWWL) -

Melvin Ejim scored 22 in his season debut as Iowa State picked up one of the biggest non-conference wins in school history shocking #7 Michigan 77-70.

The Cyclones overcame deficits in both halves and finished the game on a 23-10 run to pick up the victory.

Ejim kept Iowa State (3-0) in the game when Cyclone forward Georges Niang was on the bench with 4 fouls through much of the second half.   ISU pulled away in the final 10 minutes thanks to 3 big 3-pointers from Ejim, DeAndre Kane and Naz Long to cap a 13-2 run for a 67-62 lead with 5:00 remaining in the game.

Long added 16 points in the win, while Kane tallied 13.
