Iowa Co. Dems to host candidates vying for Braley's seat

A crowded Democratic field is set to discuss their vision for Iowa's 1st District. 

Thursday night in Williamsburg, five Democratic candidates vying for Congressman Bruce Braley's seat will meet in their first forum.

The Iowa County Democrats will host former State Sen. Swati Dandekar, State Rep. Anesa Kajtazovic, former House Speaker Pat Murphy, attorney Dave O'Brien and Cedar Rapids councilwoman Monica Vernon.

The forum is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday night at the Colony Village Restaurant just off Interstate 80 near Williamsburg.

No Republican candidate forums have yet been announced.
