DES MOINES (AP) -

A 10-year-old boy shoved his 11-year-old accomplice through a store's glass door after they stole several items. Des Moines authorities say.

Police say the boys entered the Sears store at Merle Hay Mall on Saturday and filled a backpack with several items. As the boys headed for an exit, store security workers tried to stop them.

Police say the 10-year-old panicked and shoved the 11-year-old into the door, which broke and injured one of the older boy's hands.

The younger boy ran off. The injured boy was taken to Mercy Medical Center.

A police report says Sears intends to press for theft charges.
