IOWA CITY (AP) -

Police say an Iowa City man faces several charges for attempting to steal twice from the same person in one day.

Wesley J. Madden is accused of entering the home of an acquaintance Thursday and trying to take a game console and several video games.

Police say the acquaintance caught Madden in the act, and he left the property.

Police say Madden returned to the home less than five hours later and took the electronic equipment while the acquaintance was away. Surveillance video shows Madden selling the game console at a pawn shop.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen says (http://icp-c.com/17qMA6S ) Madden has been charged with felony counts of second-degree burglary and third-degree burglary, as well as an aggravated misdemeanor count of third-degree theft. Court records do not list an attorney.
