CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Cedar Falls school officials are calling for a new elementary school and high school in the next several years, detailed in the 10-year facilities master plan report, which will be discussed at the school board's meeting Monday night.

The district wants a new elementary school to ease overcrowding in its existing elementary schools. Construction would begin in Spring 2015 with the project wrapping up for Fall 2016.

The district also wants to build a new high school for 1,400 students.  The project isn't planned to begin construction until Spring 2016, with completion in August 2018.  The plan says enrollment is projected to remain relatively flat until the 2018-19 school year.

Other phases of the 10-year plan include adding on to North Cedar, Orchard Hill, Holmes and Peet schools.  You can view the full facilities plan here.
