Hy-Vee locations serve military on Veterans Day

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Hy-Vee stores across eastern Iowa and the Midwest honored veterans Monday with the annual Veterans Day Breakfast.

A hearty buffet full of American classics awaited veterans as a way to say "thank you" to those who have served the country. Eggs, sausage, hash browns and pancakes were a few items on the menu this Veterans Day.

There are over 200 Hy-Vee stores in the Midwest region, all of which take part in the annual breakfast.

Hy-Vee on Logan Avenue in Waterloo has veterans on its staff, and said this is just one way the store recognizes their service.

"From all of us at Hy-Vee, we'd like to say thank you," said kitchen manager Brandon Stevens. "We really do appreciate everything you do and have done, and are very grateful."

The breakfast runs until 11 a.m. Monday. All veterans and active duty can enjoy the complimentary meal.
