Kuehner's 5 TD's lead North Fayette Valley to semis

WEST UNION (KWWL) -

Derrick Kuehner found the end zone 5 times as North Fayette Valley defeated South Winn for the second time this season 49-14.  The victory sets up a showdown in the state semifinals against top ranked Iowa City Regina.

South Winn grabbed the first lead in the game, however, as Logan Schweinefus connected with Jordan Rommes on a 53 yard touchdown strike.  NFV countered scoring 20 unanswered points on 3 Kuehner touchdowns, the second of which covered 85 yards.  Kuehner also tallied 193 first half yards as the Tigerhawks would lead the Warriors 20-14 at the half.

North Fayette Valley dominated the final 24 minutes.  Kuehner picked up 2 more touchdowns, while quarterback Trevor Hurd also scored on an 11 yard sweep.  One week after South Winn outscored Dike-New Hartford 30-0 in the final 2 quarters, they found themselves on the opposite end getting outscored 29-0 to end the game.
