Body found in Jones County house fire

WYOMING (KWWL) -

A body was found in a home while crews were fighting a house fire early Friday morning.

The Wyoming Fire Department was called to 9073 County Rd E4-5 at 3:28 a.m. for a reported house fire.

Firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames.

About an hour into battling the blaze, firefighters found a body inside the home.

The name of the person has not been released and the body has been sent to Ankeny for an autopsy.

The fire remains under investigation.

The Wyoming Fire Department was assisted by the Oxford Junction Fire Department, Olin Fire Department, Jones County Sheriff's Office, State Fire Marshall's Office and Midland Ambulance Service.
