CLINTON (AP) -

Authorities say four students were sent to a hospital after a pickup truck struck their school bus in eastern Iowa.

The Clinton Community School District says the students were taken to the hospital as a precaution. One student suffered minor cuts. All have been released.

The crash occurred on a fairly busy street shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to Capt. William Greenwalt with the Clinton Police Department.

The driver of the pickup truck ran a red light and hit the side of the small bus, pushing it onto its side. Four students and a bus driver were on board.

Both drivers refused treatment at the scene. The driver of the pickup was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device. His name has not been released.
