Chickasaw County plans dedication for veteran's memorial

Posted: Updated:
Organizers said the veteran's memorial in Chickasaw County is complete.

Mick Gage of New Hampton said the group was able to raise $300,000 to pay for the memorial which is located in the south lawn of the Chickasaw County Courthouse in New Hampton.

According to Gage, construction for the memorial began in December and all products have been made in the USA.

"The flags we got were made in China, so I sent them back," he said, stating it was important that every part of the memorial supported the country.

Gage said organizers have planned a dedication for the memorial on Monday, November 11, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

"It's going to be quite the show," he said.

Gage said area schools are bringing students to the dedication.

He also said there will be a flyover with fighter pilots as the plastic wrap is lifted off the new veteran's memorial.
