WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo woman is now charged with murder in connection with a stabbing in September.

Keisha Lesha Magee, 39, is charged with first degree murder for allegedly stabbing 29-year-old John Ladell Bass in the chest on Sept. 29, according to Captain Tim Pillack.

Officers were called to 1266 West Mullan Avenue at around 4:03 a.m. on Sept. 29, where they found Bass with a stab wound to the chest. He died later that day.

Witnesses tell police that Magee went to the home asking for Bass. When she was told Bass was not there, Magee asked to use the bathroom and went into the house.

Pillack says Magee found Bass inside the house, went into the kitchen, got a knife and stabbed Bass once in the chest.

Magee has been in the Black Hawk County Jail since Sept. 30. She is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
