New Hampton whips Cascade in 2A State Football

Posted: Updated:
NEW HAMPTON (KWWL) -

Third ranked New Hampton played host to Cascade on a foggy night.  The first half was a defensive struggle as both teams caused turnovers that stalled drives.  NewHampton had a chance in the first quarter but was stopped on a 4th and 2 from the Cascade 4 to thwart one drive.  New Hampton returned the favor by forcing fumbles on a couple of Cougars drives.  The Chickasaws got on the scoreboard in the 2nd quarter on a22 yard TD pass from Cole McDonald to Trevor Ambrose to put New Hampton up 6-0 at halftime.  New Hampton goes on to win 19-7 over Cascade.
