MT. PLEASANT (AP) -

A video presented in the trial of a former Iowa jail guard accused of killing his pregnant wife includes the sounds of him sobbing and pledging to kill the person responsible for her death.

Seth Techel is heard sobbing on and off throughout the video taken from a patrol car.

He tells a deputy in the video that he jumped out of the shower after he heard a gunshot, then grabbed a handgun and ran down a hallway.

The Ottumwa Courier reports (http://bit.ly/18HtH9Q ) the video was presented Thursday during the second trial of Techel.

The southeast Iowa man is charged with first-degree murder and non-consensual termination of a human pregnancy in the May 2012 death of Lisa Techel. His first trial ended in a mistrial in March.
