The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force netted more than 20 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on I-380 Tuesday night.
Officers from the Task Force and deputies from the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office stopped 37-year-old Tyangus Antwion Mitchell on I-380 northbound near the Gilbertville exit at around 8:53 p.m. Tuesday, according to Capt. Tim Pillack of the Waterloo Police Department.
Pillack said that during a search of the vehicle, investigators found more than 20 pounds of marijuana in the trunk.
Later on, investigators searched Mitchell's home at 241 Unity Square and found a large amount of ecstasy.
Mitchell is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver over 5 grams of ecstasy and two counts of drug tax stamp violation.
