The film "Bully" was shown Tuesday night at the Waterloo East High School auditorium.
The movie was presented by the schools newly formed local chapter of Stand for the Silent, a movement that aims to prevent bullying.
The kids say the program brings attention to the pain bullies can cause.
"It's not fair for the children that get treated like that, for their families to go through that pain and stuff because bullies don't realize how much they could hurt a person," said Waterloo East High freshman Shaniya Bradford. "Because people kill themselves, even twelve year old boys kill themselves because of the pain they went through."
The students were handing out wrist-bands in hopes to end all forms of bullying.
