A Washburn man faces charges for eluding and drugs after a chase in Waterloo Monday morning.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office says Mark Brunko, age 35, did not stop for a deputy during a traffic stop; instead authorities say Brunko sped off and eventually got out of his car and ran.

Once Brunko was stopped, deputies say they found methamphetamine, pills, a pipe and syringes on Brunko.

Brunko also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

He was charged with a stop sign violation, eluding, possession of meth, possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
