IOWA CITY (AP) -

Super heroes, ghosts and fairy princesses will walk through downtown Iowa City on Friday as the city holds its annual Halloween Parade and Carnival.

People of all ages are invited to the event, which starts at 6 p.m. Friday at the Weatherdance Fountain in the Pedestrian Mall.

Children who attend must be accompanied by an adult.

At 6:15 p.m., the parade will begin to the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center for the Halloween Carnival, which will continue until 8 p.m.

The carnival will include prizes, crafts, cookie decorating and other activities.

The parade won't be held if the weather turns scary, but the carnival will go on regardless.
