Salvation Army Coat Giveaway kicks off

The Salvation Army started giving away coats Tuesday morning in Waterloo, but participants will need to bring two forms of identification to take one home.

The annual giveaway will continue Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon and 1 - 3 p.m.

Coats are available for children and adults. The charity will also be giving away hats, mittens and scarves for those in need.

Patrons will need to bring a photo ID along with a Social Security card for everyone in the family needing a coat.

The Salvation Army is located at 89 Franklin Street in Waterloo.
