New Hampton has been ripping through its opponents by an average score of 36 to 5.
The Chickasaws did little to disprove their Top 10 ranking against the Union Knights, who entered last night's game on a three-game losing streak.
The Knights started on a positive note with some nice defensive tackles to keep the game close in the first quarter.
In fact, the Chickasaws punt of only 7 yards put the Knights deep into New Hampton territory on the 26-yard line, but three plays later would have to settle for a field goal.
Eskild Erickson boots a line drive from 38 yards out right through the uprights, making the score 3-0 Union in the first.
The Chickasaws take over on their own 40 and three plays later, quarterback Alex Troyna finds one of his favorite receivers, number 33 Tucker Tenge, for an 18-yard pick up.
A few plays later, number 22 Connor Frerichs takes it "in" standing up, making the score 7-3 Chicksaws.
At the start of the second quarter, Union would go four and out, and the Chickasaws went right to work with a mixture of run and pass.
On the seventh play of the drive, Anthony Sweitzer receives the pass and runs 10 yards to the Union 13-yard line.
Two plays later, Troyna finds tight end number 14 Kyle Smith across the field, and he would find the end zone. The field goal was good, making the score 14-3 with a little under 8 minutes left in the second.
Two defensive interceptions for touchdowns pushed the Chickasaws lead to 28 to 3 at halftime.
The final score: Union falls 38 to 3 to New Hampton.
The Chickasaws have one of the showdowns of the week next week when they take on second-ranked Waukon.
