CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Livability.com says Cedar Rapids is the best city -- with a population between 20,000 and 350,000 -- to live in Iowa.

The website released their "Top 100 Best Places to Live" on Wednesday. Cedar Rapids made the list at number 29 in the country and is the first Iowa city on the list.

“We are pleased to have Cedar Rapids recognized as a top place to live,” Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett said in a written statement. “The criteria used for this ranking is reflective of the elements of a community we agree are important – a quality city with amenities, a good economy, and time to enjoy life.”

Other Iowa cities to make the list include Ames at #31, Iowa City at #46, Des Moines at #69 and West Des Moines at #76.

Livability.com partnered with Richard Florida’s Martin Prosperity Institute at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management for the study. Criteria for the study included nearly 40 data points grouped into eight categories. Those categories are amenities, demographics, economics, education, health care, housing, social and civic capital, transportation and infrastructure.
