CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

A young talented UNI Men's Basketball team will look to take advantage of a change in officiating this season.

UNI Head coach Ben Jacobson says that games will be officiated a lot tighter-- as the powers that be look to create more scoring in the college game.

The Panthers which return two starters in point guard Deon Mitchell and forward Seth Tuttle--has been a team that has long relied on defense to win games.

Coach Jacobson says the quicker whistles will force his team to change how they defend--but UNI players say this will also  open more scoring opportunities on the offensive end.
