WEST BRANCH (KWWL) -

The Herbert Hoover grave site ceremony scheduled for this Sunday commemorating the anniversary for the funeral of Herbert Hoover will be held as scheduled now that the government shutdown has ended.

“We will be holding the Hoover Gravesite Ceremony at noon on Sunday, October 20,” Hoover Presidential Library Association Executive Director Jerry Fleagle said in a written statement.

The Hoover historic site is owned by the National Park Service, and officials say the site will re-open within 24 hours.

The ceremony, which was normally held close to the late President’s birthday, August 10, was moved to October this year.

A special program by the National Park Service, along with a concert by the Red Cedar Chamber Music scheduled for Sunday afternoon remains postponed to a later date.
