UPDATE: 2 killed after 2 crashes in Fayette Co.

FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) -

Two people are dead and three more are injured following car crashes in Fayette County on Sunday evening.

One of the crashes took place at 80th Street and L Avenue northeast of Oelwein.

The Iowa State Patrol says two pickup trucks crashed at that intersection.

Both drivers, 18-year-old Dakota Rohde and 28-year-old Shawn Brehme, were killed. 7-year-old Sandler Brehme, 9-year-old Seth Brehme, and 23-year-old Alex Jans were all injured in the accident.

They were airlifted to an Iowa City hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

Authorities also responded to a rollover crash at Highway 3 and Neon Road just east of Oelwein. It was unclear how many people were injured in that crash.
