UPDATE: New information shows Nashua man was shot in the head

Posted: Updated:

More than a year after 70-year-old Carl "Kenny" Gallmeyer was found dead, new information shows he was shot in the head.

"It was a very sad day when we learned of his death and then turned out to be a murder...was even worse," said Gallmeyer's friend Tom Clark of Clarksville.

"I hope they find some things out," he said.

Gallmeyer's death shook up the small towns of Nashua, where Gallmeyer lived, and Clarksville, where Gallmeyer worked for many years.

"You know we don't know how to deal with it because it just doesn't happen, and then it does," he said.

Few details have been released about Gallmeyer's case on October 4, 2012, because a judge sealed off court documents to protect the investigation.

"It's very close to home. It's Butler County, or close to Butler County. We're a small, small USA. Things like this aren't supposed to happen, especially in rural America. It was very shocking," said Clark.

According to the death certificate which KWWL recently obtained, Gallmeyer's death was the result of a being shot in the head by someone else with a shotgun.
Friends and family that we have talked to believe authorities know who killed Gallmeyer, but no one has been charged yet.
