Dubuque police investigating car fire as arson

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque police and fire officials found a Wisconsin man's vehicle fully engulfed in flames early Thursday morning.

Officials responded at approximately 2:15 a.m. to Delaware and Atlantic streets in Dubuque, where they found a burning 1995 Volkswagen Jetta registered to 20-year-old Jason Hocking of Wisconsin.

That wasn't all, however. The flaming vehicle began to roll down the street and struck a legally-parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Grandview Avenue.

The Dubuque Police Department's criminal investigation division is handling this case, which is considered suspicious.

Hocking's vehicle, which came to rest on the lawn near the second vehicle, was a total loss.
