IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Fire investigators in Iowa City are trying to figure out what caused a house fire on Friday morning.

Crews were called to 1219 Burns avenue at around 10:12 a.m. for a possible house fire.

When they arrived, crews found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the two-story duplex.

Battalion Chief Brian Platz says firefighters had the fire under control in 30 minutes and out in 40 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

Platz says the fire appears to have started in the kitchen, but the cause remains under investigation.

Damage to the home is estimated at $25,000.
