WATERLOO (KWWL) -
A Waterloo man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a September robbery after a tip received by Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers.
Captain Tim Pillack says police arrested 47-year-old Brandon Dewielde Tate on Wednesday for the September 21 robbery.
According to Pillack, a woman reported to police that a man with a gun approached her vehicle in the parking lot of the Kwik Star at 707 Broadway Avenue just after 3 a.m. on September 21 and demanded a ride.
She says the man got in the car and had her drive him to the area of Oak Street. She says that's where the man got out and took her purse with him.
Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers got a tip identifying the man as Tate.
Tate was arrested for first degree robbery. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance third offense and providing false identification information when he was booked into jail.
