Walt Rogers announces bid for Iowa's 1st Congressional District

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Just a couple weeks after announcing his exploratory campaign, Walt Rogers is making his bid for Congress official.

Rogers will seek the Republican nomination in Iowa's First Congressional District, which will be open when current U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley vacates the seat to run for U.S. Senate.

Walt Rogers lives in Cedar Falls with his wife of 33 years, Jenny. They have three children and seven grandchildren.

Rogers currently represents House District 60 in the Iowa Legislature, comprised of much of west Waterloo and southern Cedar Falls, Hudson, and southwestern rural Black Hawk County.
