Woman pleads not guilty in charity theft case

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A woman accused of stealing charity donations meant for the homeless plead not guilty Monday at her arraignment.

Joni Hansen is facing three counts of felony theft. Police say that she withdrew tens of thousands of dollars from the Hospitality House bank account – at the Isle of Capri Casino in Waterloo.

The Hospitality House serves homeless people in the Cedar Valley.

Hansen has plead not guilty to the charges.

Her next court appearance is in mid-November.
