Missing Waverly man found after three-hour search

WAVERLY (KWWL) - Authorities say a missing Waverly man was found early Monday morning after a three-hour search.

Officers received a report at around 12:15 a.m. Monday that a man who appeared to be having a medical condition left his home and went into a cornfield, Waverly Police Chief Richard Pursell said.

Officers immediately set up a perimeter and began searching the area.

Pursell says the man was found at about 3:35 a.m. and taken to the Waverly Health Center for precautionary reasons.

The Waverly Police Department was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Waverly Fire Department, Bremer County Sheriff's Office, Bremer County EMS, Bremer County CERT and Waverly Ambulance Service.
