UNI defeats No. 9 McNeese State

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

With 5 touchdowns and 2 field goals, the No. 5 UNI Panthers stayed undefeated as they beat the McNeese State Cowboys 41-6 Saturday.

After a missed field goal at the beginning of the 1st quarter, David Johnson ran for a touchdown at the end of the quarter.  UNI led 7-0.  

The Panthers scored again at the beginning of the 2nd quarter as Brion Carnes rushed 15 yards for another touchdown.  In the middle of the 2nd quarter, Tyler Sievertsen kicked a field goal, furthering the lead UNI already had.  

After halftime, UNI continued to score as Sawyer Kollmorgen threw another pass to put the Panthers even further ahead.  In the middle of the 3rd quarter, McNeese State scored their first and only touchdown of the game by Marcus Wilz.  Kollmorgen completed the next two passes which resulted in two more touchdowns for the Panthers.  Sievertsen scored the final field goal for UNI and defeated the Cowboys.  

The UNI Panthers will play North Dakota State next Saturday in Fargo, ND.  The game begins at 2:30 pm.
