Community leaders met at Waterloo's Women Center for Change Sept. 26 to finalize plans for the inaugural Building Healthy Communities Conference.
The event, aimed at disrupting the cycle of sexual and domestic violence, takes place Oct. 8 and 9, beginning at the University of Northern Iowa. Speakers and workshops will equip attendees with ideas and strategies to combat issues of violence in their backyards.
