CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Cresco man has pleaded guilty to being a felon and marijuana user in possession of firearms after shooting at three people in Calmar.

24-year-old Daniel Wildman pleaded guilty to the charge in federal court in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, according to Pete Deegan with the U.S. Attorney's Office.

In his plea agreement, Wildman admitted he drove from Ossian to Calmar on the morning of October 12, 2012, to find two people who had confronted him earlier in the morning about money one person believed Wildman owed him.

Wildman said he found the two people, who were with a third person, and parked his car with the driver's side window facing them. He then stuck a shotgun out the window and fired it three or four times.

No one was hit, but some of the bird shot did hit a nearby house.

Deegan says Wildman then returned to a farm in Ossian where police eventually caught him in a cornfield. Police searched an outbuilding at the farm where Wildman was staying in his RV.

Police say that is where they found the shotgun that Wildman used in Calmar and a 9-millimeter rifle.

Deegan says that Wildman admitted in the plea agreement that he was a convicted felon and a marijuana user and that he unlawfully possessed both guns.

A sentencing date has not been set, but Wildman faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
