Authorities in Wapello County search for escaped inmate

OTTUMWA (KWWL) -

Authorities are looking for an escaped inmate. The Iowa Department of Corrections reports 33-year-old Robert Thomas Andrews did not return to the Ottumwa Work Release Facility on Saturday, September 21st.

Andrews was transferred to work release on June 3. He was serving a 31-year sentence. His list of charges include attempted murder, escape of a felon, and assault on peace officer.

Anyone with information as to Andrews' whereabouts should contact to the Ottumwa Police Department or Wapello County Sheriff's Department.
